"This project involved shooting 3 specials for the Food Channel and Fine Living Network in Thailand and Malaysia."

"To make things difficult, we were on a remote beach (little power--and a very long power run) with white sand and rolling surf (blowing and very contrasty) behind the subject. (The days schedule had limited us to packing the jeep light as we had just finished a jungle trek prior to arriving on this beach). Chefs MUST wear white (more contrast) and our chef has a dark complexion with deep black eyes (more contrast!) and the early afternoon sun needed to be softened by an overhead scrim (less light). When I saw the location we were expected to shoot, the only trick I could pull out of the hat was the Joker-Bug 800!

Being a two-man crew, overseas on a tight budget and tighter schedule, traveling with a Joker-Bug 800 and a Joker-Bug 400 saved our butt's repeatedly. (And maybe more importantly, the producers were able to stay on schedule with the quality they needed and expected.)"
